Our conversation covers his creation of the first physical map of the human genome; a NY Times article titled “Mining the Genome” mentions this, and more broadly suggests how genomics in 1994 was expected to influence life science business. Daniel and Craig Venter in 2000 wrote a commentary for the LA Times on the future of genomics in human health, which is a fun read some 15 years later.
